Weekly Publisher Note ~ March 11-18, 2021

By Jodi Lorence, Macaroni Kid Publisher March 11, 2021

Welcome,

Isn’t the weather wonderful. I love that we have some hope of spring! The grass is showing through the snow and other than the mucky areas of the melt, there is hope for green grass to come. To be honest, spring and fall are my worst seasons. I have come to realize that I am kind of a perfectionist. I don’t like the mess of the leaves in the fall in our yard and gardens and I don’t like the mud, grime and brown grass of the spring. I am trying my hardest to look beyond the mess to the beauty of the season, that spring brings HOPE! This year we need it more than ever. With 2020 being a covid nightmare I am hoping that we are moving to better times.

My heart aches for everyone that has struggled with the loss of family members, loss of a job making it hard to make ends meet, depression and the anxiety that many have dealt with or are still dealing with. My thoughts are with you all.  We all just have to do our best to be kind to each other. You really never know what someone is going through. We are resilient and we just keep living.

With the hopes of Spring, it is time to start thinking of summer camps. Our kids deserve to explore new options to extend their education through STEM camps, sports camps, music camps, day and overnight camps, STEM Camps, and camps through our Parks and Recreation Departments. Please take a look at our 2021 Macaroni Kid Summer Camp Guide for a great variety of quality camps for kids.

🌱☀️🐦🌳🌷Have a wonderful week and thank you so much for your support. We truly appreciate you all.

Coronavirus Update!
Click here to read about updated Minnesota orders.
It is important that we follow the guidelines set out by our government officials. Here is a great handwashing video to help prevent diseases like the Coronavirus. Here is a link to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention for information regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and more at Whitehouse.gov and the Minnesota Department of Health.

Calendar update for Macaroni Kid - White Bear Lake, Shoreview, Roseville
I have been adding virtual to our calendar and in person local eventsate starting to open back up. I struggle with the fact that we are a source for events but yet to be safe, large group events are unsafe for the Coronavirus-19 at this time. I will continue to add both virtual and in-perons events as they safely open back up but please know that it is solely up to you as a family obviously to make the decision on whether you feel safe for your family to attend. The changes we are experiencing at this time seems to evolve by the day. I am not the source to learn about those changes due to COVID-19 but I do want to say that I am doing my best to bring to you  events and activities that are occurring as we all navigate through the uncertainty of this world we live in at this time. With spring there is hope. Let's hope that we all move in a better direction.

I will be sharing resources on our Facebook Page too so be sure to check it out.
Love your family, take care of you. Stay healthy, warm and safe!
