Change Your Mindset and Change Your World

Our natural state is to be happy, joyous and peaceful and excited to be alive. In this natural state each morning you wake up eager to get on with your day. You are happy to have the people that you surround yourself with.  Your primary goal is to live in such a way that you are happy with who you are as a person and appreciate the world around you.

Have you ever noticed that your mood and mindset determines how your day goes? If you start the day off in a bad mood you set the tone for what kind of a day you will have. Starting my day off by reading a motivational uplifting quote and telling myself it is going to be a good day helps to set the tone of the day. Focusing on the positive enables us to feel happy instead of unhappy. We really have to work at staying positive in a world that tries to bring us down day after day.

“Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be.”

— Abraham Lincoln

Working hard at remaining positive can be a challenge when we are facing a pandemic, the gloomy daily news, all the changes we have going on in our lives such as working from home, dealing with the challenges and adaptations from our kids in their education during the pandemic, and trying to make enough money to support our families. Still, through it all a positive mindset will get you so much further than a negative one. Give it a try, really force yourself to look at all the good in your life instead of the bad, really notice the simple pleasures in life, change your vision from the negative thoughts about a situation to something positive or how can you change it for a more positive outcome. We are in control of our thoughts.

"What consumes your mind, controls your life."

You should feel grateful for all your blessings in every area of your life. If you are unhappy or dissatisfied in any part of your life, change your thoughts and make corrections as necessary. We were born to live not just to thruve. What has changed my life was when I started a gratitude journal and really worked to consciously change my mindset. Each day I continue to write down one or more things that I was grateful for in my day. It is amazing how you start to see that it is definitely the small things in your life that really matter. Pretty soon it becomes a habit to change a negative situation into a positive one, have a happier mindset and you will see your life start to change before your eyes. Literally, I started having successes in all areas of my life that I never had before. All too often we are too hard on ourselves and our negative self talk really can bring us down. You are worthy of your own oving and uplifting words. Give it a try. You really have nothing to lose.
