Through my many interactions with my mom and dad friends, it has become obvious that it can be quite easy to lose ourselves and our identities once we become a mom or dad. Our identities become Johnny’s mom or dad, the PTA president, the mom or dad with the crazy kids, Sarah's coach, or the CEO of a certain company. We start to lose who we really are. For those of you who would like to get back to that special someone again, you will be pleasantly surprised at what treasure you will find after reading "The Power of Principled Inclusion". While you may or may not be proud of those titles, you can definitely get to know who you really are through introspection and soon you will see your unique self.
After reading Michael G. Sawaya’s book, "The Power of Principled Inclusion," I have gained a new respect for my own principles and values by gaining a greater understanding of inclusion with the world around me. The author guides you on an interactive journey through each chapter with a workbook section that you can dig deep and soul search into your own life experiences, which have inevitably molded you into the person you are today. This interactive approach personalizes Michael’s concepts and processes into your own life from his philosophies and knowledge which guides you to the values and principles that form your true self. Our values and principles are formed through our trials, tribulations, and experiences in life. Understanding and accepting that these experiences have helped mold us into who we are, whether the situation was good or bad. This process allows us to stop beating ourselves up over these trials and use them as a tool to a better life and helps us accept these experiences as pieces of who we really are.
Michael’s historical research and wisdom guides us with detailed supporting evidence that aid in this journey but to have the ability to be inclusive with the world around us. You will soon see that you are more than Johnny's mom or dad or whatever title others recognize you as. Finding your unique self and learning to be accepting of it can literally turn your life around. Michael G. Sawaya's book, "The Power of Principled Inclusion" would be a recommendation to not only enhance your life, but also to lift others up around you as you accept your true self. We are all given this one life and we might as well be all that we can be during our journey on earth.
