8/13/2020 ~ Weekly Publisher Note

By Jodi Lorence, Macaroni Kid Publisher August 12, 2020

Welcome Friends,

I really have enjoyed working from the deck when weather permits this summer. At times I am sidetracked by the beautiful hummingbirds that come to suck nectar out of the specifically chosen plants that attract them. They prove each and every year that I can be assured to have "visitors" join me while I work. Macaroni Kid continues to bring you and your family the latest local events and activities in the area that seem to change frequently due to the pandemic. We have adapted and molded our lives around the latest executive orders by the governor. For all the moms and dads out there I give you a hand and a virtual hug. Trying to keep yourself and you family upbeat during these trying times, entertaining your family while keeping them safe, putting food on the table, juggling work schedules with family, and everything you have done to create an environment for the kids to reduce the stress that can be brought on with the situation we are in. Keep your spirits up, as this can't possibly go on forever.

Coronavirus Update!

As of July 25, 2020, per the Governor's Executive Order, people in Minnesota will be required to wear a face covering in all public indoor spaces and businesses, unless you are alone.. Click here to read about the new Minnesota order. Listen in today, Thursday, July 30th for the decision on the 2020/2021 school year.

It is important that we follow the guidelines set out by our government officials. Here is a great handwashing video to help prevent diseases like the Coronavirus. Here is a link to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention for information regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and more at Whitehouse.gov and the Minnesota Department of Health.

Calendar update for Macaroni Kid - White Bear Lake, Shoreview, Roseville

I have been adding virtual events to our calendar and some physical local events as they start to open back up. I struggle with the fact that we are a source for events but yet to be safe, large group events are unsafe for the Coronavirus-19 at this time. I will continue to add virtual events and events that open up as guided by our state governor but please know that it is solely up to you as a family obviously to make the decision on whether you feel safe for your family to attend. The changes we are experiencing at this time seems to evolve by the day. I am not the source to learn about those changes due to COVID-19 but I do want to say that I am doing my best to bring to you  events and activities that are occurring as we all navigate through the uncertainty of this world we live in at this time.

I will be sharing resources on our Facebook Page too so be sure to check it out.

Love your family, take care of you, Stay healthy and safe,
