Creamy Beef and Mini Penne

By Jodi Lorence, Macaroni Kid Publisher April 18, 2020

This meal was inspired by a recipe that I found on the internet but I didn't have all the ingredients listed so I adjusted it with the ingredients that I thought would be tasty. I really experiment a lot in the kitchen and most of the time I am glad that I experimented. I just have to remember to write the recipes down as I go so I can recreate them again. The family loved it and I will definitely be making this again. I doubled this recipe for my family and we had a lot for leftovers and enough to freeze as well.

Ingredients

1 tsp. olive oil

1 lb. of ground beef or ground italian sausage

1 tsp. fine herbs

1/2 - 1 tsp.onion salt

1 tsp. minced garlic

1 jar of pasta sauce, 24 oz. (I used Classico Tomato basil)

1 box of mini penne (although you can use whatever pasta you have)

1 1/2 cup of Shredded Cheddar cheese

3/4 cup of heavy cream

salt and pepper to taste

Directions

Brown the ground beef or italian sausage and crumble in 1 tbsp olive oil. Add the minced garlic, onion salt, fine herbs. Drain the meat.

Pour in the tomato sauce and bring to boil. Turn down heat and let simmer while you cook the pasta.

Once the pasta is complete, pour into the tomato/meat mixture and then add the heavy cream and the shredded cheese and cook until heated through and cheese is melted. Serve and enjoy.
