CTC's The Biggest Little House in the Forest-A Publisher Mom's Review

A Forest of Imagination Bubbles to Life for Toddlers!

By Lori Wondra, MK Publisher Mom March 5, 2015
It's cold, days indoors feel especially long, and if you are anything like me, you are starting to feel the ho-hum of a mid-winter slump. A trip to one of my favorite places of all - Children's Theatre Company - is the perfect remedy. The current production in the Cargill Theater, The Biggest Little House in the Forest, will transport you and your little ones into a vivid story of new friends and new adventures.

Specifically designed for children ages 2-5, this production speaks to the youngest enjoyers of stories - those whose imaginations are set in motion from their very first steps into the atrium where cozy, silly slippers are donned and exploration and play encouraged. The children's attention is harnessed by the bike-pedaling Autumn Ness, the skilled actor who brings to life all the characters in the sweet story of The Biggest Little House in the Forest. Children are invited by Ness herself to find their way into the theatre to their pre-school size seats in the first rows (with parents right behind in seats slightly larger).

From those front rows the children live the story along with Ness - of Bernice the Butterfly, Millie the Mouse, Fred the Frog and Bartholomew the Bear. They participate in making bringing a rainstorm to life, in capturing bubbles and dancing too - all as part of their theatre experience. Knowing how much fun they will have, can't you just imagine your own enjoyment watching them? This is the gift you give yourself when you bring children to the theatre. It makes your experience exponentially better - and it lives on as your children tell stories of their favorite characters, the mini-elements of set and sounds and lighting that you might otherwise have missed if not experiencing it with the wonder and imagination of a child.

Do you have a child between the ages of 2 and 5?
