Canadian Days in Little Canada

About: Little Canada's community festival "Canadian Days" was first started as a bicentennial celebration in 1976. This year's theme, "May the 40th be with you!" as they celebrate 40 years of this fun community friendly event. From a 5K Run/Walk, medallion hunt,  car show, rides for the kids, family entertainment, and so much more!

Minnesota State Fair

When: August 25th through September 5th

Where: Minnesota State Fairgrounds

About: What began in 1854 as a territorial fair to highlight agriculture and encourage farming in the region became the Minnesota State Fair in 1859, a year after Minnesota was granted statehood. Learn more about the State Fair's rich history.

Today, often referred to as the “Great Minnesota Get-Together,” the annual Minnesota State Fair is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the region. The fair attracts nearly 1.8 million guests annually.

Manitou Days in White Bear Lake, MN

When: June 16th through July 4th

Where: various locations in White Bear Lake

About: Come to beautiful White Bear Lake to celebrate Manitou Days, a three-week summer festival showcasing some of the greatest things about this lakeside community.  For 49 years this annual summer ritual has been a favorite of locals and visitors.

This year's theme is Musical Bears. The fun kicks-off with Marketfest and ends on the Fourth of July with a spectacular fireworks display to music over the lake. One of festival highlights is the Grand Parade, which travels through the scenic downtown and along Lake Avenue, ending at Memorial Beach where the Free and Easy Band will perform at the Beach Dance following the parade. 

Ride your bike. Build a sand castle. Enter a fishing contest. Go for a pontoon ride. Shop Downtown White Bear Lake. Do yoga on the beach. Hunt for a medallion. Dance under the stars. There is something for everyone!

Minnesota Renaissance Festival

When: Open Weekends August 20 - October 2, Plus Labor Day & Festival Friday, September 30

About: The Minnesota Renaissance Festival began its journey in September of 1971 on a 22 acre field in Jonathan, MN. More than 25,000 people visited the two weekend grand opening of the festival than named “A Celebration of Nature, Art, and Life!” That celebration has since relocated to Shakopee, MN and has grown to be the largest Renaissance Festival in the United States with an annual attendance of 300,000.

Mounds View Festival in the Park

When: August 20th

Where: Mounds View City Hall

About: A fun family day surrounded by people from your community. Start the day with a car show, a parade, lots of family friendly activiites, food booths and end the day with a great firework display!

Rosefest in Roseville

When:  Thursday-Sunday, June 23-26

Where: Central Park in Roseville and various locations in the community.

About: Rosefest celebrates the community traditions of health and wellness, arts and entertainment, fun and fresh air for people of all ages. Starting around the last week of June, there are Rosefest events for everyone, including the annual Rose Parade and culminating with the Party in the Park on the 4th of July. There are events for those who like to be active and events for those who like to watch. There are events for adults, events for kids and events for the whole family. There are events to learn, but especially there are events to just plain ol' have fun! 

Slice of Shoreview

When: July 22 - 24

Where: Island Lake County Park, Interstate 694 & Victoria Street in Shoreview

About: A fun community celebration that hosts a parade, car show, an art fair, & entertainment for the entire family. The Slice of Shoreview is an annual festival held to celebrate life in Shoreview, Minnesota. The "Slice", as it has come to be known, takes place over the last weekend of July and incorporates a wide variety of family-oriented activities including a carnival, parade, art and craft fair, food vendors, various displays and demonstrations, talent show, lots of entertainment and, of course fireworks. Since the late 1990s, it has taken place at Island Lake County Park at the intersection of Interstate 694 and Victoria Street in Shoreview.

Taste of Vadnais in Vadnais Heights, MN

When: Tuesday, July 12th

Where: Vadnais Square, 935 East County Road E (Mad Jacks Cafe and F & M Bank parking lots)

Time: 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm

About: Come celebrate summer at the annual Taste of Vadnais.  This year, organizers wanted to provide an outdoor street fair atmosphere with food, music and children’s entertainment in our Vadnais Heights City Center!  With the move back to its roots in our City Center, the new event location will take place at the Mad Jacks Café and F & M Bank parking lots.  Parking for attendees will be in the Vadnais Square parking lot in front of the new Fresh Thyme Farmers Market.
Enjoy food from area restaurants and live music from Shane Martin and his band.  Shane’s band features modern country, rock and pop music  It’s the City Staff and members of the City Center Task Force’s hope that bringing the event back to the downtown of Vadnais Heights will benefit all the neighboring businesses and bring a little excitement to the area.  Please come and share in some fun!
