Shepherd of the Hills Preschool is an outreach ministry of Shepherd of the Hills Evangelical Lutheran Church, who's Mission Statement is to reach, ignite and empower people for Jesus.
At Shepherd, we believe each child is a unique individual, with different interests and abilities, created by God as part of His plan. Through preschool education, we hope to give children and their families the opportunity to recognize and appreciate their uniqueness and their role as members of the family of God.
The preschool was formed to reach out to the community by providing a quality preschool education program within a Christian environment for children and their families. For more information, please contact Jilene Ylonen, Director.
Shepherd offers a variety of classroom scheduling options to accommodate the varying needs and schedules of children and their families. Specific projects and activities may vary from class to class but the same theme, objectives and goals are carried through consistently.
State Licensing and Accreditation
The preschool is licensed and NAEYC accredited for three, four, and five year old classes with a capacity of 20 children with two adults per class. The preschool has been operating since fall 1997.

Lunch Crunch: (Mondays & Wednesdays from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m.)
Lunch Crunch is a supervised lunch hour that is an extension of our regular classes in preschool. Our Red Sheep can stay after class. Adventure Day friends can come a half hour before class! Bring your own lunch and eat with your friends! Each Lunch Crunch hour is $5.oo sign up with Jilene Ylonen. Please pay by check or have exact amount when paying in the preschool office

6:30 pm - 8:00 pm, Wednesday Nights from September through May

KIDzone:
KIDzone Begins Sunday, September 27. Please join us for 10 a.m. worship and then following the Children’s Message KIDzone leaders will escort children to the Lower Level for our KIDzone Worship service. Following the service, parents please pick up your child/children in the designated places listed below. 33 months‐Age 6 or Kindergarten: Preschool Rooms 1st– 4th Grade: Lower Level Activity Rooms

This year Shepherd of the Hills is introducing a FUN new program (GAPP) for 5th & 6th
graders on Wednesday Nights! This program will both better meet the needs of our 5th and 6th graders and prepare them for life as a Christian youth in today’s world.
About GAPP: The class will be taught by a group of teachers using a variety of interactive learning strategies including art, movies, science, cooking, and role playing. The Goals for the GAPP program include: having an overview of Biblical Story, becoming more familiar with their own Bible, building community and relationships, and having the opportunity to serve.

Shepherd of the Hills Preschool is now enrolling! In-house registration begins January 4th and will run through February for the 2016-17 school year. All current families will be able to register returning children and any siblings. Pick up a registration packet in the preschool office.
