Lots of Family Fun in the Twin Cities

Ice Castles
You will be in awe by this spectacular display of ice caves, frozen waterfalls and glaciers with tunnels. Be sure to wear boots. More information regarding this fun family friendly event can be found on their website along with cost and hours of operation.

St. Paul Winter Carnival
The 130th Saint Paul Winter Carnival named the "Coolest Celebration on Earth™" since 1886! There are so many family-friendly events and you can see all the various events, and theircalendar of events.

Cost: Most events are free and open to the public


Red Bull Crashed Ice
This is a high-speed action downhill race that features skaters competing in four-man heats in a race to the bottom of a long ice track filled with obstacles.
Date: February 26-27
Location: The capital of Minnesota (St. Paul) will host the Red Bull Crashed Ice season finale

The Loppet
This is an urban cross country ski festival with events for the entire family. The events are for children up to adults and you can be a participant in the event or come as a spectator.
Date: February 5-7

TC Kids Fieldhouse Fun Run
This exciting Medtronic TC Kids Marathon is designed just for kids at the University of Minnesota Fieldhouse! For the run, kids are grouped by age and then number of laps and invited to run around the track. When one group is done, another age group starts. The schedule for the day is as follows. Each wave takes 10-15 minutes.

LCRA Ice Fishing Contest & Fire Dept. Booya 
The Little Canada Recreation Association (LCRA) will be hosting their 5th Annual Ice Fishing Contest on Lake Gervais, Saturday, February 6, 2016, from noon to 3 PM. There will be plenty of food and drinks, and booya will also be available—supplied by the Little Canada Fire Department! Advanced tickets are $15 and are available at various sites around the city including Little Canada City Center. Tickets will also be available on the same day of the tournament for $20.

Following the fishing contest will be the drawing for this year’s winter raffle. First prize is a 2015 Polaris Sportsman EXT Blue Fire and second place is a Weber Genesis EP-310 Gas Grill.

Time: 12:00-3:00 p.m.
Cost:  The tournament is open to all ages, and will be $15 per ticket in advance, or $20 per ticket at the gate(provided spots are still available).  Each ticket will be good for one hole, with a limit of two holes per person.  Also check out our heated tent for games, food and drinks.
